In November 2011, HESPI assisted the Transitional Government of Somalia (TFG) in the formulation of the 2012 National Budget, which was approved by Cabinet in December. A team of officials from the TFG Ministry of Finance, other Ministries and agencies was provided training in budget preparation in the process of drafting the 2012 National Budget by the Institute associates and consultants. The formulation of the 2012 budget was supported by a grant from the African Development Bank for the Transitioanl Federal Government of Somalia.
